Reis Magos is a small, storied village on the northern bank of the Mandovi River in Bardez taluka, directly across the water from Goa's capital, Panaji. The fort itself, one of the oldest Portuguese-era structures in Goa, was built to guard the mouth of the Mandovi estuary. This Fort is surrounded by sturdy laterite walls studded with typically Portuguese turrets, was erected in 1551 to protect the narrowest point at the mouth of the Mandovi estuary. After decades of disrepair, the monument was restored and now functions as a cultural landmark. Restored and opened to the public in recent years, it now stands as one of Goa's most treasured heritage sites.

Beyond its heritage appeal, Reis Magos has quietly emerged as one of North Goa's most sought-after residential addresses, prized for its hillside settings, unobstructed river and sea views, and proximity to both the administrative capital and the beach belt. The village sits within easy reach of Candolim, Calangute and Baga, giving residents the choice of a tranquil riverside base with the coastline just minutes away.
